Why visit Milan with a private guide?
You’ll have been told Milan can be done in an afternoon. That’s exactly the line that makes people miss the city. Look at the gilded Madonnina on top of the Duomo: for centuries nobody dared build above her. When the Pirelli Tower overtook her in 1958, they put a small replica on its roof to set things right, and every taller building since has done the same. Or the mosaic bull on the floor of the Galleria, worn through by people spinning on their heel for luck. None of that is written on a sign. Someone has to tell you, and that’s what a licensed official tour guide is for.
With us you’re always private: your group and your guide, nobody else. You stop where you want, go in where you feel like it, and if you’d rather not walk so much, we move you by luxury vehicle with chauffeur. You also get a travel coordinator on call at any hour, in case something goes sideways. Not sure where to start? The Private Walking Tour of Milan starts at 65€.
Private tours in Milan: what you can do
Start with the Duomo. And go up on the roof
Six hundred years to build and 3,400 statues, but the part you shouldn’t skip is the roof: you walk across it, in among the spires, with the city below you and the Alps behind. With a guide you skip the queue and you actually understand what you’re looking at. The walking tour of the most important sites starts at 65€ and the complete experience at 75€. If you’d rather not walk, the Private Tour of Milan with a vehicle is 99€.
Duomo · Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II · La Scala · Sforza Castle
The Last Supper: this one you have to ask for early
We’ll say it up front, because it’s the number one question. About thirty-five people go in at a time, fifteen minutes and out, and the slots go months ahead. If it’s on your list, send us your dates as soon as you can. And once you’re inside, those fifteen minutes are worth three times as much with someone telling you where to look. The Last Supper private tour starts at 70€.
Santa Maria delle Grazie · Cenacolo Vinciano
The Navigli and Brera, where everyone actually is
At seven in the evening Milan moves to the Navigli. These are real canals: for six hundred years they were the city’s freight network, and Leonardo had a hand in the lock system. Today it’s the best place in town for a drink. Brera is the other side of the coin: quiet streets, a great gallery and courtyards you’d never guess from outside. The Brera district and Pinacoteca tour starts at 65€, and the Hidden Treasures tour (70€) goes looking for exactly that — the things that don’t make the guidebooks.

A day at Lake Como (this is where a driver pays for itself)
Como is an hour away, but between the train, the ferries and the parking you can lose the whole morning. With a driver you arrive, see Bellagio and Varenna at your own pace and get back to Milan for dinner. With a guide, from 259€; car and driver only, from 149€. And if you fancy pushing it, you can cross into Switzerland and see Lugano the same day for 219€ — bring your passport.
Como · Bellagio · Varenna · Lugano
Milan is the best base in Italy for getting out
You leave in the morning and you’re back in your own hotel that night. Verona or Bergamo from 129€, Turin from 129€, Bologna from 65€, Parma and Bologna together from 175€, Genoa from 179€ or Venice from 199€. And if it’s the circuit that pulls you, Monza from 99€.
The Quadrilatero della Moda is four streets with half the industry inside them. If you’re travelling with children, or you’re just curious, the National Museum of Science and Technology has Leonardo’s machines built at full size and the Leonardo3 Museum does the same indoors — both from 69€. For the outlets, the private arrangement for Serravalle is 99€: they take you, wait for you and bring you back.

What’s Milan like for a visitor?
Art & monuments
A cathedral that took six hundred years, Leonardo’s Last Supper, the Brera and a Sforza castle. Less overwhelming than Rome, and with far less queueing.
Food & aperitivo
Risotto alla milanese, cotoletta, panettone at Christmas. And the aperitivo, which here is almost dinner — and they invented it.
Walkable centre
You’ll do the centre on foot without trouble and the metro covers the rest properly, which in Italy isn’t the norm. Between neighbourhoods there’s a real stretch, though.
Base for getting out
Como, Bergamo, Verona, Turin, Genoa, Bologna, even Lugano. You go and you’re back the same day without rushing.
Beach & climate
No sea, fog in winter and a sticky August. Nobody comes to Milan for the weather, and we’re not going to tell you otherwise.
Nightlife & buzz
People go out here on a Tuesday. Navigli, Brera, Porta Venezia: it’s the most properly urban night in Italy.
If you liked this Milan — a city that works, good coffee, no queueing for the sake of it — your next stops are Turin, with its arcades and royal palaces; Genoa, which drops vertically down to its port; and Bologna, where you’ll eat better than anywhere.
And if what you want is to get out of the city altogether, Lake Como is an hour away, Verona is there for a small and beautiful day, and the Cinque Terre swap the flat plain for cliffs and sea.

Frequently asked questions about private tours in Milan
How much does a private tour in Milan cost?
It depends how much you want to fit in. The walking tour starts at 65€, the complete experience at 75€, the Last Supper at 70€ and the tour with a vehicle at 99€. For getting out of town: Bologna from 65€, Monza from 99€, Bergamo, Verona and Turin from 129€, Parma and Bologna from 175€, Genoa from 179€, Venice from 199€, and Lake Como from 149€ with a driver or 259€ with a guide.
Can I get Last Supper tickets from one day to the next?
Almost certainly not, and we’d rather tell you that than sell you a maybe. Small groups go in for fifteen minutes at a time and the slots are released well in advance. Send us your dates as early as you can and we’ll tell you what’s left; if there’s nothing, we’ll build the morning around the Brera and the castle, which are well worth it too.
What language will the tour be in?
Whichever you pick from English, Spanish, French and Italian. We confirm it in writing when you book, not on the morning of the tour.
Is it worth staying more than a day?
Two suits it well: one for the Duomo, the Last Supper and the centre, another for Brera, the Navigli and a museum. If you stay a third, the thing to do is leave the city — Como, Bergamo or Verona.
When’s the best time to come?
April to June and September to October. In August the city empties and a lot of restaurants close. And watch out for Fashion Week and the Salone del Mobile in April: Milan fills up and hotels double their prices. If your dates land there, better to know before you book.
Can we change the plan as we go?
That’s what private is for. If the group tires, we shorten it; if the Navigli hook you, we stay; if it rains, we head indoors. Tell us what you fancy when you ask for a quote and we’ll build the day around you.
