A soccer match on Sunday in Murcia

Another good option to spend a Sunday in Murcia is a soccer match. This is an activity that is never missing in the city, and we can find two stadiums, which have their respective teams.

One of them is the Enrique Roca de Murcia-Nueva Condomina Stadium, which is located on the outskirts of the urban area. This is the home of Real Murcia Club de Fútbol, a team that has managed to position itself in the second division B.

On the other side, if we are near the historic center of Murcia, we can find the BeSoccer La Condomina Stadium, which is the home of UCAM Murcia. Likewise, this team is also in the second division B; but it has strived to climb to the Second Division A, which is the silver classification of soccer in Spain.

Seeing wild animals in Terra Natura is perfect for your Sunday in Murcia.

An ideal plan to go with the family and enjoy what Murcia has prepared for us is to go to the zoo and water park Terra Natura. It is an exhibition in which we can contemplate from very close to a lot of mammals and exotic animals; for example, some of them are giraffes, meerkats and even carnivores such as leopards from Africa and Asia.

On the other hand, when the summer season arrives and the heat arrives, the water park of Tierra Natura can be a refreshing source. There we can find a wide variety of pools with water slides, where it is possible to take one of the best dips in Murcia.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria has managed to consolidate itself as the most outstanding monument of Murcia Capital. It has different artistic and architectural styles, but the predominant ones are Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque. Inside it is also the tomb of Alfonso X, one of the most important kings of Castile.

Take a tour of local museums

Very few people who visit Murcia have had the opportunity to know the museums that are in the city. And the reality is that this capital of the region has a wide variety of museums to which we can go. One of them is the Archeological Museum of Murcia, also known as the MAM. It has a unique exhibition that gives the feeling that you are taking a trip to the past, covering from the Paleolithic period until you reach the twentieth century.

Another outstanding museum is that of Francisco Salzillo, which has been specially dedicated to this outstanding baroque sculptor from Murcia. We also find the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia, with rooms that show Murcian regionalism and local traditional art. In addition, it has spaces that have been specially designed to talk about the Golden Century and the Renaissance.

Enjoying the Floridablanca Garden

Finally, in the midst of all the atmosphere that is breathed in the city of Murcia, there is no doubt that it is worth going to a real oasis in the center of the city. We are talking about the Floridablanca Garden, which is characterized as the oldest park in the city.

Some of the things you can do in it, is to walk in the middle of its poplars, ficus and a wide variety of plant species. In the park it is also possible to find a collection where there are some statues, such as the one of the Count of Floridablanca; and monuments to some poets, such as Pedro Jara Carrillo and José Selgas.
