Miami: Christmas in shorts

Pine trees, snow, Santa Claus in thick clothes… these are the stereotypical images of Christmas all around the Northern hemisphere. But, could you imagine celebrating Christmas in shorts and sleeveless T-shirts, and waiting for the New Year on the beach, drinking cocktails instead of hot wine. Let’s see what to do in Miami a Christmas.

With this 60-degree weather, what better way to warm up and get ready into the holiday spirit with family and friends than with some Snow, Holiday Treats, Hot chocolate and much more while you can meet Santa Claus, Nix the Snowman and Sprinkle the Gingerbread Cookie at a beautiful illuminated Forest.

Do not miss a visit to Miami Zoo, where to enjoy the lights and holidays gifts. It’s that magical time of the year as the park transforms into a fabulous array of shimmering trees and dazzling (animal-shaped of course) lights that adorn every corner of this fantastic animal kingdom.

And during the day, the best part is watching all our fluffy fellows open their Christmas presents…

Of course, in Miami, it is possible to attend Christmas masses. Bright poinsettias, twinkling lights, wonderful nativity scenes, children caroling and the fragrance of firs and incense filling the church, the Christmas Eve Midnight Mass has been a beautiful tradition for as long as I can remember. All our places of worship and the communities go out of their way to welcome and share in the spirit and purpose of the Christmas celebrations.

Another event to which is a must, is the live, open-air reenactment of the Christmas Story which takes place every year at the Miami Shores Presbyterian Church. It features live camels, donkeys, goats, and sheep, as well as live-action characters like Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. The depiction is narrated and includes digital projections and music. The event is free, but guests are invited to bring canned goods for donation to the local food bank.

And, what a better way to enjoy Christmas in Miami than guided by the professionals of www.tourtravelandmore.com enjoying of all the cities corners thanks to their vast knowledge of the places they show, and the comfort of our luxurious vehicles.
