Barcelona has so much to offer that sometimes its difficult to decide what to do when you have a short period of time. We have come up with a list of the best activities and plans to do once you visit Barcelona.

Barcelona is a big city, but it’s actually a perfect size to enjoy walking tours and walking experiences. You can enjoy most part of the city by foot not even using public transportation. You can enjoy by foot the most emblematic streets. We recommend not only walking around the Eixample, Gothic Quarter & Borne area but also around St. Gervasi. Ciudatella area, Montjuic…

  •  It’s concert time! –>

Barcelona is a great city to enjoy live music in Razzmatazz or Sala Apolo but also to enjoy great live concerts. One of the most emblematic and historical places is the Gran Teatre del Liceu, this is pure luxe and will let you enjoy a great and amazing time. You can also enjoy concerts at L’Auditori where you can listen and enjoy all types of music. Where you can find great activities and shoes is the Palau de la Musica Catalana. This amazing architecture monument will also let you enjoy a great touristic sight of Barcelona. Barcelona is also home to many fun festivals throughout the year like Primavera Sound, International Jazz Festival of Barcelona, Sonar, Cruïla & much more!

  • Gaudi & its amazing architecture –>

When you say Barcelona, one of the first things you think about is Gaudi. These are touristic attractions not only for one time visitors but also from the Barcelonians. The most famous and emblematic Gaudi Sites are Sagrada Familia (incredible from inside & outside), Park Güell, La Pedrera (Casa Mila) & of course Casa Batllo.

This been said, you cannot miss the rest of the amazing monuments that might not be as well known as the ulterior 4. Don’t miss Palau Güell, Casa Vicens & Colonia Güell (in Santa Coloma de Cervelló).

Gaudi was not the only expressionist of Modernism in Barcelona. You can also visit Casa Amatller, Palau de la Musica (like said before) from Puig i Cadafalch, La Casa Lleó Morera designed by Domenech i Muntaner or even La Casa de les Punxes. When you visit the Sagrada Familia you should take time to visit the Hospital de La Santa Creu i Sant Pau.

You cannot miss this chance to get to know these unique monuments and sites.

Picasso always remembered Barcelona as beautiful & brilliant. It was a city where he spent his first years. Follow his steps and enjoy the places which marked his youth. Walk down the Reina Cristina street and then cross over until number 3 of the Mercè street to see where he used to live, although the building was destroyed. Don’t miss Els 4 Gats, a famous place where artists would sit around and chat, have dinner and art reunions. During this day, you cannot miss the Picasso Museum.

  • Typical Tapas –>

Enjoying a great tapas experience is a must in Barcelona & Spain. Here is a list of our best recommendations: Ciudad Condal, Cervecería Catalana, Euskal Etxea, Quimet i Quimet, Esquinica, El Jabalí, & so much more!

  • Montjuic adventure –>

The Montjuic mountain is a great opportunity to enjoy a walk between trees at the same time enjoying amazing and great views. You can also enjoy what was built for the ’92 Olympics of Barcelona. The most common access to the Montjuic Mountain is by Plaza España where you can also enjoy the old bull fighting ring that has been turned to a shopping mall.

  • The Raval District –>

The Raval district has not always been the best area to visit around but it gives you a great perspective of other areas of the city where now is a great walking experience. It is known for its literary aroma where many writers have been inspired. It has been known as the Chinese District and it is usually frequented by homeless and prostitutes.

You can enjoy great stores like Les Topettes, Fusta’m as well as urban culture, music and gastronomy like Bar Kasparo, Lo de Flor or Dos Palillos. For cultural visita you can enjoy the CCCB, MACBA, Catalunyas Biblioteque and the new Filmoteca.

  • My personal favorite, MUHBA –>

Barcelona is a city filled with history. That is one of its great beauties. You can enjoy not only the modernist of Gaudi and company but also enjoy great historical sights. MUHBA is one of these great historical museums. This museums preserves the historical patrimony of the city. In our opinion, this is a must!

There is not much better thing to enjoy in the afternoon than a freezing cold beer at one of the many terraces that Barcelona has to offer. There are so many to start enumerating, I would recommend finding one close to where you are, ordering a beer and a small tapas and enjoying the calmness of Barcelona and what the city has to offer.

  • Nightlife –>

Barcelona is well known for its night life as well. Depends on what type of holiday you are taking but I wouldn’t miss the chance to party in one of its many nightclubs around the city.
