Day 1: arrival to Athens

The airport of Athens is called Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport. Receives around 25 million passengers every year from different corners of the world. For your arrival you should arrange an arrival transfer in advance, as there are cues for taxis and the public transport offer is not the quickest.

In case you arrive early in the morning, it is possible to organise a private walking tour or activity in the afternoon.

Day 2: Discover Athens

Athens is known as the world ancient capital. It is one of the most visited cities in Europe, and not only due to its historical heritage. Athens has developed one of the most beautiful mix of heritage and modernity in the continent.

On the first day in Athens you would normally try to cover the main heritage and historical sites. No visit to the city is complete without a visit to the Acropolis and surrounding area. For this we recommend a private city tour, which covers the main sites of the city.

During this tour you will be able to visit the following places:

  • Acropolis: Built in the 5th century BC, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the center of Athens and one of the most famous archaeological sites in the World
  • Monastiraki square: One of the most interesting and attractive squares in Athens. This square was, for centuries, the commercial center of Athens.
  • Agora: Located northwest of the Acropolis, it was the heart of ancient Athens. It was the focus of political, commercial, administrative and social activity.
  • Changing of the guard: Every day you can see the changing of the Guard at the Parliament Building at Syntagma Square.
  • Acropolis Museum: The museum houses more than 3.000 famous artefacts from the Athenian Acropolis. It was founded to exhibit all the significant finds from the Sacred Rock and its foothills.

Depending on what time you arrive on day 1, we can arrange this private tour in the afternoon or just leave it for day 2 so you can rest and take a walk for your own.

Day 3: Free morning and afternoon ferry to Tinos

Athens has one of the best gastronomical offer of whole Europe. We recommend taking the morning for a nice brunch in one of the many Athens brunch places.

In case you are still interested it is also possible to arrange a walking tour of Plaka and the old jewish quartier.

In the afternoon you would head to the port of Rafina. We can arrange a private transfer from your accommodation to the port. Rafina port is located around 45 minutes away from the center of Athens. From there you will take a 3 hour ferry to Tinos, one of the most beautiful Cycladic islands. During the ferry ride you will enjoy the summer breeze of the Aegean Sea.

Once in Tinos we can also arrange a private driver for a private ride from the port to your hotel. The port is very close to the main town.

Discover the wonderful Tinos culinary offer during the night!

Day 4: Explore the island of Tinos

Tinos is one of the most underrated islands of Greece. Thanks to this the island still holds a very local atmosphere. The island has a surface of 194,5 km². It is filled up by many small villages who have their own flair.

Tinos is mainly known for its Evangelistria Church. This church is located on top of the main town, and it is a place of spiritual pilgrimage and divine worship. Every year many people crawl from the port to the church. For this there is a red carpet laid the whole way.

Pyrgos, a small town in the northeast of the island, is the other main town of the island. Known as one of the best scenic spots of the Cyclades, this town is full of marble works. Next to Pyrgos you could visit Panormos for a nice lunch with fresh seafood.

The other part of Tinos you should not miss are its beaches. One of the main is Kolybithra, were you can also enjoy a surf lesson!

In conclusion, Tinos is one of the most beautiful islands of the area. We recommend visiting the island with a local driver/guide. Do not hesitate to contact us for arranging this!

Day 5: Ferry to Mykonos and sightseeing

After enjoying the magic of Tinos and a mediterranean breakfast (with a cold frappe!), you will head to Mykonos. We can arrange a private transfer from your hotel to the port. The ferry to Mykonos lasts only 30 minutes. Once in Mykonos our driver will be waiting for you and will drive you to your accommodation.

In the afternoon we recommend you to discover the main sites of Mykonos. We arrange private half day tours which include the main sites of the island. You would first enjoy a walking tour of the main spots in the center. Secondly you will head to Ano Mera and its monastery. You will visit the church of Panagia Panaportiani and learn about the windmills of Mykonos.

The idea of a sightseeing tour on the first day is for you to have a free day on Mykonos the last day. In the evening you will be able to have a nice dinner in Mykonos (our guide will recommend you the best places!)

Day 6: Free day Mykonos

Mykonos is Greece’s most famous cosmopolitan island. According to mythology the island was created by petrifies bodies of giants killed by Hercules. During your free day you will have time to wonder around the streets of the main town, as well as for relaxing on the beach. Mykonos hosts some of the most beautiful beaches of Greece. Some of them are: Platys Gialos, Psarou, Elia and Paradise.

Day 7: Departure from Mykonos

This would be unfortunately the last day of your week in Greece. But thankfully after enjoying a wonderful week full of history, heritage and nature. Let us arrange your private transfer from your hotel to the airport for a worry free departure of Greece.
