Day 1: Welcome to the gateway to Africa
Our journey begins with an expectation-filled arrival in Tangier, known as the gateway to Africa. The airport is a true meeting point of cultures and emotions. As we walk through the terminal, we can feel the energy and excitement in the air.
After settling into our comfortable hotel, we head to the medina, the historic heart of Tangier. Its labyrinthine streets transport us through the centuries, where past and present intertwine in a fascinating dance. We explore the souks full of vibrant colours and exotic aromas, and meet the local artisans, who delight us with their skills and unique products.
We can’t resist trying some of the traditional Moroccan dishes in one of the local restaurants. Couscous and tagine are a delight to our palates, and we can’t forget to enjoy a refreshing mint tea, a true institution in Morocco.
Day 2: Where East meets West
Today we continue our exploration of Tangier, a city where the aromas of spices mingle with the sea breeze. We head towards Cape Espartel, where we can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Atlantic Ocean. The fusion of colours between the blue of the sky and the sea takes our breath away.
Next, we enter the Cave of Hercules, a place full of mythology and mystery. According to legend, Hercules rested here after separating Europe from Africa with his superhuman strength – be sure to take some epic photos as you explore this fascinating place!
After our encounter with mythology, it’s time to dive into the modern charm of Tangier. We visit the trendy Mohamed VI Avenue, where luxury shops, stylish cafes and fashionable boutiques await us. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a bit of “shopping therapy” and take home some unique souvenirs.
To end our trip in Tangier in style, we head to a historic café on the Petit Socco square. Here, we soaked up the bohemian atmosphere and enjoyed a cup of tea while people-watching. The lively atmosphere and traditional music envelop us, creating an unforgettable moment.
