Private Al Ain Tour from Dubai

Discover the “Garden City” of Al Ain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a full-day sightseeing tour that will transport you to a totally different atmosphere from opulent Dubai.

The greenest city in the emirates and birthplace of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, considered the father of the United Arab Emirates, is the best place to learn about Emirati history and culture, and has an unprecedented offer including places such as the camel market and races, Mount Hafit, museums, fortresses, and even an oasis.

Your private guide will pick you up at the place of your choice in the city of Dubai in a private air-conditioned vehicle, and you will start your tour. During the tour we will have time for lunch at a local restaurant, and at the end, we will return you to your place of origin.

Points of Interest

Al Ain Museum

The oldest museum in the country contains an adobe fort, an oasis, and three main sections:

  • Archaeology: you have exhibits from the Stone Age to the founding of the UAE, artifacts from Mesopotamia, the Bronze and Iron Ages, prehistoric jewelry, flint tools, 8,000-year-old arrowheads, or the oldest known irrigation techniques (falaj, plural aflaj) with which Al Ain flourished and allowed the construction of its characteristic adobe buildings.
  • Ethnography: Explore the traditions, customs, education, agriculture, medicine and daily life of Emiratis and how much has changed in just a few decades.
  • Gifts: An exhibition of the gifts Sheikh Zayed received from leaders from around the world, including a moon rock given by NASA.

Al Ain Palace Museum

The Qasr Al Ain fort is the former palace where the father of United Arab Emirates Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan resided. As a museum, it is dedicated to his life and memory, and incorporates modern elements in its design but without neglecting traditional Emirati style and techniques.

Camel Market

Desert and camels are probably the first things that come to mind when you think of the emirates, and certainly Al Ain’s camel market gives you the opportunity to observe this iconic animal up close in a fascinating place where buyers and sellers trade camels by the hundreds and often stage camel races.

Al Ain Oasis

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it stretches across 1,200 hectares and offers a unique glimpse of the region’s inhabitants who began to dominate the deserts 4,000 years ago. The oasis is home to 150,000 palm trees of different varieties, and is maintained by the traditional aflaj irrigation system, which transports spring water from the Hajar Mountains. The Eco-Center explains the characteristics and history of the place and its inhabitants.

Al Jahili Fort

This 19th century fortress was transformed into a cultural center and now houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to Sir Wilfred Thesiger, the intrepid explorer, travel writer and photographer who, with his Emirati and Omani companions, crossed the world’s largest sand mass, the Rub’ al Khali (literally, “the Empty Quarter”), twice in the 1940s. The fort also houses a temporary exhibition gallery. Surrounded by a lush park, it won the prestigious Terra Prize for contemporary architecture in raw earth.

Mount Hafeet

Located on the border with Oman, its 1,240-meter peak makes it the highest in the emirate, and to reach it there is a winding road rated as one of the best in the world. The view from the top is something you will remember for a long time.

At the end of the tour, you will be driven back to your place of origin in Dubai.
