Château d’Amboise is the place where the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci is located. It has been a place of residence for French kings from the 15th to the 19th centuries. The castle is in a position with lovely views over the town of Amboise, the Loire river and the countryside.
Château de Chenonceau is one of the most visited castles in the valley and in the whole France. Previous buildings existed where before the actual castle was built by Thomas Bohier. The castle is known as the ‘Château des Dames’, while during its history it was loved, managed and protected by women, including Diane of Poitiers and Catherine de Medicis.
Château de Chambord is captivated by a wondrous forest, where you will discover extraordinary architecture imagined by François I and imbued with the spirit of Leonardo da Vinci. It was originally built as a royal hunting lodge, but became the largest Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley.
