Normandy D-Day landings beaches:

The Normandy landings were the landing operations on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy beaches of Utah, Omaha, Juno, Gold, Sword and Pointe du Hoc in Operation Overlord during World War II and were the largest seaborne invasion in history, with nearly 160,000 troops that crossed the English Channel.  At Omaha Beach, parts of the Mulberry harbor are still visible, and a few of the beach obstacles remain.
