Milan is a historic city with countless monuments, streets and buildings of great architectural and cultural value.

We know that the historic center of Milan is one of its main tourist attractions. However, this private walking tour of Milan is perfect for exploring the hidden treasures of the capital of Lombardy.

First, we will take you to Piazza Pio XI to admire the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, which is one of the oldest galleries in Italy and where the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana is also located.

Some of the most important collections of art and manuscripts in European history are housed here, including paintings and documents by Da Vinci, Caravaggio and Botticelli.

Then, we will take you to the Santa Maria presso San Satyr Church, which is one of the most representative buildings of the Italian Renaissance style and is located in the center of Milan.

Throughout the 2-hour tour you will be accompanied by a private official guide, who will be attentive to give you the most relevant information about each point of interest you visit.

At the end of the tour, the guide will drop you off at a central point of the city to continue your visit to Milan.

Points of Interest of the Private Walking Tour

Discover all the secrets of the capital of Italian design, in this 2-hour private walking tour of its main hidden treasures.

The tour starts when you meet your private guide at a central point in Milan to visit the following points of interest:

  1. The Ambrosiana Gallery

The Biblioteca Ambrosiana was built in 1607 in honor of St. Ambrose, who is the patron saint of the city.

It is one of the oldest libraries in Europe and is home to some of the most famous documents of the European continent, such as the manuscripts of the Benedictine monastery of Bobbio.

Later, in 1618, the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana was inaugurated in this building with the purpose of making art education free for anyone who had these gifts.

Inside are more than 1,500 masterpieces, including paintings and pictures by:

  • Tiziano
  • Raffaello
  • Caravaggio
  • Leonardo da Vinci
  • Federico Borromeo, among many other world-famous artists.

Church of Santa Maria Presso San Satyr

Next to the Milan Cathedral, we will visit the Church of Santa Maria presso San Satyr. In this construction different architectural models are mixed, since they are two enclosures that were joined to venerate the Virgin Mary and St. Satyr, who was the brother of St. Ambrose.

In its halls the Renaissance style predominates, although certain Gothic touches can be admired in its façade. In addition, inside is one of the symbolic works of Milan: “The false choir”, which was made by the artist Donato Bramante.

At all times, the private guide will give you the information you need so that no historical fact is left out.

At the end of the tour, our guide will take you to the most convenient location in the center of Milan.

You can complete your sightseeing tour of the city with our private walking tour of Milan for 4 hours for a complete experience of the most attractive sites of this interesting Italian city.
