Cuando todo es imprescindible, nada lo es. Son categor\u00edas diferentes y merecen decisiones diferentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para esta selecci\u00f3n se han aplicado tres filtros.&nbsp;<strong>Primero: que no se pueda ver en otra ciudad.<\/strong>&nbsp;Una plaza bonita la hay en Salamanca, en Bruselas y en Cracovia;&nbsp;<em>Las Meninas<\/em>&nbsp;solo est\u00e1n en Madrid.&nbsp;<strong>Segundo: que gane al entrar<\/strong>, no solo al pasar por delante.&nbsp;<strong>Tercero: que aguante hora y media sin agotarse<\/strong>, porque si un sitio se resuelve en quince minutos es una parada de camino, no un imprescindible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con esos tres filtros, la lista de treinta y siete se queda en tres. Y los tres, adem\u00e1s, est\u00e1n alineados en el mismo eje este-oeste del centro, lo que hace que se puedan encadenar sin perder la ma\u00f1ana en desplazamientos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-palacio-real-el-imprescindible-que-hay-que-reservar-antes\">Palacio Real: el imprescindible que hay que reservar antes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Es el que m\u00e1s gente se salta por dentro y el que m\u00e1s se arrepiente de saltarse. Desde fuera, la Plaza de Oriente y la fachada ya dan la escala del edificio; por dentro, el Sal\u00f3n del Trono, la Real Armer\u00eda y la escalera principal son otra visita completamente distinta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dos detalles pr\u00e1cticos que casi ninguna gu\u00eda cuenta con precisi\u00f3n:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>El Cambio de Guardia se celebra los mi\u00e9rcoles y s\u00e1bados<\/strong>, si el tiempo lo permite, y el\u00a0<strong>relevo solemne el primer mi\u00e9rcoles de cada mes<\/strong>, salvo en enero, agosto y septiembre. Si te cuadra la fecha, s\u00famalo al plan y llega antes: es gratuito y se llena.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>La \u00faltima entrada es una hora antes del cierre.<\/strong>\u00a0Presentarse a las 17:45 en invierno significa quedarse fuera, aunque el palacio cierre a las 18:00.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>La cola sin cita previa es de las peores del centro de Madrid en temporada alta. Con entrada reservada con hora, se entra casi directo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-museo-del-prado-hora-y-media-bien-elegida-vale-mas-que-tres-horas-mal\">Museo del Prado: hora y media bien elegida vale m\u00e1s que tres horas mal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El error cl\u00e1sico es intentar el Tri\u00e1ngulo del Arte completo \u2014Prado, Reina Sof\u00eda y Thyssen\u2014 en la misma visita a Madrid. El resultado casi siempre es pasar por los tres corriendo y no recordar ninguno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para una primera visita, el Prado basta y sobra.&nbsp;<em>Las Meninas<\/em>&nbsp;de Vel\u00e1zquez, las Pinturas Negras de Goya,&nbsp;<em>El jard\u00edn de las delicias<\/em>&nbsp;de El Bosco y&nbsp;<em>El 3 de mayo de 1808<\/em>&nbsp;justifican solos el edificio. Son cuatro obras que est\u00e1n a pocos minutos de distancia una de otra dentro del museo, y con hora y media da tiempo a verlas sin prisa y a dejar margen para la sala que te enganche por el camino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un apunte de horario que ahorra dinero:&nbsp;<strong>el museo tiene entrada gratuita las dos \u00faltimas horas de lunes a s\u00e1bado, de 18:00 a 20:00, y de 17:00 a 19:00 los domingos y festivos<\/strong>. Es una franja real y muy aprovechable, pero con dos condiciones: se llena, y no es el momento de intentar ver el museo entero. Si vas gratis, ve a por cuatro salas concretas y punto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-parque-del-retiro-el-unico-de-los-tres-que-es-patrimonio-mundial\">Parque del Retiro: el \u00fanico de los tres que es Patrimonio Mundial<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Aqu\u00ed es donde la lista se separa de las dem\u00e1s. Muchas gu\u00edas colocan el Retiro como &#8220;el pulm\u00f3n verde de la ciudad&#8221;, un sitio agradable para pasear. Se quedan cortas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El&nbsp;<strong>25 de julio de 2021<\/strong>, el Comit\u00e9 del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO declar\u00f3 Patrimonio Mundial el conjunto formado por el&nbsp;<strong>Paseo del Prado y el Buen Retiro, bajo el nombre de &#8220;Paisaje de la Luz&#8221;<\/strong>. Es el&nbsp;<strong>primer bien de la ciudad de Madrid<\/strong>&nbsp;inscrito en la lista, y entr\u00f3 en la categor\u00eda de paisaje cultural: unas 200 hect\u00e1reas con 109 elementos protegidos, entre ellos 41 monumentos, 48 edificios y 20 \u00e1rboles singulares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eso cambia c\u00f3mo se visita. No es un parque al que se entra a sentarse: es la mitad este de un paisaje dise\u00f1ado que empieza en Cibeles, sube por el Paseo del Prado con el museo y el Jard\u00edn Bot\u00e1nico a un lado, y termina en el estanque y el Palacio de Cristal. Recorrido as\u00ed, en ese orden y con esa l\u00f3gica, una hora se pasa r\u00e1pido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y es&nbsp;<strong>gratis<\/strong>. De los tres imprescindibles, este es el que no cuesta nada y el que m\u00e1s gente despacha en veinte minutos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-por-que-sol-gran-via-y-plaza-mayor-no-estan-en-la-lista\">Por qu\u00e9 Sol, Gran V\u00eda y Plaza Mayor no est\u00e1n en la lista<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No es que no merezcan la pena. Es que pertenecen a la otra categor\u00eda: sitios por los que se pasa, no sitios que se visitan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Puerta del Sol<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Es un punto simb\u00f3lico, el Km 0 y la Casa de Correos, pero se resuelve en 15 minutos. Se cruza de camino entre Plaza Mayor y el Paseo del Prado.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plaza Mayor<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Espectacular y gratuita, pero se agota r\u00e1pido, y hay plazas mayores comparables fuera de Madrid. Parada de 20 minutos con el Mercado de San Miguel al lado.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gran V\u00eda<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Es una calle: se disfruta camin\u00e1ndola, no visit\u00e1ndola. Se recorre de Cibeles a Plaza de Espa\u00f1a yendo hacia otro sitio.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Templo de Debod<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Precioso al atardecer, pero es un templo egipcio, no un imprescindible madrile\u00f1o. Cierre del d\u00eda si sobra tiempo y buen cielo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>La distinci\u00f3n importa cuando el tiempo aprieta. Sol, Gran V\u00eda y Plaza Mayor caben en el trayecto entre los tres imprescindibles sin robar ni un minuto de visita. El Retiro, el Prado y el Palacio Real, no: o les reservas tiempo, o no los ves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-como-encajar-los-tres-en-la-misma-manana\">C\u00f3mo encajar los tres en la misma ma\u00f1ana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los tres est\u00e1n alineados en el mismo eje del centro. Del Palacio Real al Museo del Prado hay algo m\u00e1s de 2 km a pie, unos 25-30 minutos por el casco hist\u00f3rico. Del Prado al Retiro, cruzando por la puerta de los Jer\u00f3nimos, apenas 5 minutos.
